Uganda COVID-19 Cases Rise To 248 After 21 Truck Drivers Catch Deadly Disease

The Ministry of Heath has announced 21 new cases from 1,071 samples from various Points of Entry, taking Uganda’s total confirmed cases to 248.

“All cases are Ugandan nationals from Elegu, Mutukula and Malaba points. All 253 community samples are negative for COVID-19,” the Ministry said, adding that the COVID-19 confirmed cases are now 248.

Uganda has 63 recoveries and has not recorded any COVID-19 related deaths.

The Ministry also disassociated itself from fake results being communicated by unknown persons.

“This is to inform the public that MoH did not release results yesterday. Following the Presidential directive of only allowing in truck drivers who test negative, samples had to be sorted appropriately,” the Ministry said, refuting reports that Uganda had registered 105 new cases.
