Uganda Baati Unveils Campaign To Preserve Clean Water

SAFAL Group under their roofings company Uganda Baati has unveiled a countrywide campaign aimed at preserving clean water.

The campaign dubbed ‘Every Drop Counts’ was officially unveiled at Golden Tulip Hotel in Kampala on Saturday evening.

According to Water.org 2019, about 61 percent of Ugandans lack access to safe water and 75 percent do not have access to improved sanitation facilities.

Uganda Baati’s Head of Business, George Arodi said, “We are looking at creating awareness on a platform that brings together various stakeholders.”

He explained that in their Corporate Social Responsibility pillars of Shelter, education, health and environment, they found out that water conservation was an issue to many Ugandans.

“Many organizations have come out with donations but donations don’t last; the government can do so much but what can we do as stakeholders?” he said.

He revealed that Uganda Baati is going deeper for all the people to get the message through participating in the photographic challenge which will see the best winner walking away with Shs13M.

“Everyone should take a picture (about conservation and preservation of clean water) and participate, we have a panel of judges and the final winner will be awarded in the award ceremony,” he added.

The Ministry of Water and Environment’s representative Simon Omalinga said that the government is welcoming Uganda Baati’s initiative with warm hands.

He said that as part of vision 2040, universal access to clean water and sanitation, government welcomes all sorts of efforts to preserve water and the environment.

“In Uganda, we have water stress areas where we can’t access surface water and underground water. This is the opportunity to unleash the best technology which suits all the people,” he said.

On the same event, Uganda Baati unveiled its new product called

Outspan designed to help in this water conservation campaign.
