The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) has partnered with the  National Leadership Institute (NALI) in Kyankwazi to train its staff in various courses with the aim of improving service delivery.

“UCAA has plans to transform all its staff in partnership with NALI to achieve qualitative leadership that will provide solutions to the challenges facing the Aviation Industry,” UCAA said via its official twitter handle.

Recently, a total of 63 UCAA staff under went a leadership capacity building course at the National Leadership Institute in Kyankwazi. They were passed out recently with renewed energy and mindset shift to stimulate service delivery and drive towards Uganda’s social and economic transformation.

The Chief Guest, the Director HR&A at UCAA, Ahmed Shaba requested the  staff to “act as change agents of integrity, accountability, efficiency and customer focus as UCAA sets to improve its corporate brand.”

Shaba also warned the staff against absenteeism and corruption saying they risk losing their jobs.

She revealed that as the country prepares to host the Non-allied movement and G77 summit late this year, the authority is working hard to expand airport infrastructures in addition to bringing on board other Airlines.

Brig. Gen. Charles Kisembo, the commandant of National Leadership Institute, Kyankwanzi, tasked the trained UCAA managers to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to positively improve the authority’s service delivery.

Janefer Etit, the team leader of UCAA trainees, noted that they intend to use the knowledge and skills acquired to serve airport users with patriotism in order to redeem the image of the Entebbe International Airport.
