Tullow Uganda Boss Mugerwa Appointed Group’s Corporate Head of Infrastructure and Organisation

Tullow Uganda Managing Director, Jimmy Mugerwa has been transferred to London based head office as Tullow Group’s Corporate Head of Infrastructure and Organisation, the company said in a press statement.

This is a newly created role which according to the release is advisory, but  Mugerwa will also be responsible for all aspects of Tullow’s infrastructure and external affairs.

Mugerwa (pictured) will assume the position effective January 1, 2020, the statement added.

Mugerwa, who has served in the position since 2012, will be replaced by Mariam Nampeera Mbowa, who has been Tullow’s Associate Counsel in Uganda.

In the statement, Tullow said Mugerwa will report to Les Wood, Tullow Chief Financial Officer.

“Jimmy will provide advice to Tullow’s executive team and the Uganda business…”, read part of the statement.

Mugerwa joined Tullow in 2012 after working at Royal Dutch Shell.

Besides his Tullow job, Mugerwa served as board chairman of DFCU bank.

According to the statement, Nampeera will now lead Tullow business in Uganda.

Nampeera, too, worked at Royal Dutch Shell for 13 years before joining Tullow in 2011.
