Sir Alex Ferguson is back working for Manchester United as a consultant in a bid to restore the club’s glory days.
The former Red Devils boss played a part in hiring Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the return of his former assistant Mike Phelan after Jose Mourinho was sacked last week.
According to The Sun, ex-United player Solskjaer will plan regular contact with Ferguson which is something his predecessor chose not to do.
It is also understood that former United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel wants to join the club as the director of football.
United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward, who is determined to get things right after three managerial failures on his watch turned to the legendary manager as he prepared to sack Mourinho following their 3-1 loss at Liverpool.
