Top Kampala Hotel, Pearl of Africa Hotel, on Saturday night hosted the glamorous Viewers Choice Movie nomination night.
The VCMA, known officially as The Viewer’s Choice Movie Awards, is a set of twenty-three awards for artistic and technical merit in the Ugandan film industry, given annually by the Viewers of the Uganda Movie Industry (VUMI), to recognize excellence in cinematic achievements as assessed by the Viewers voting.
The various category winners are awarded a copy of a 16 color golden statuette, officially called the “Viewers Award of Merit”, which has become commonly known by its nickname “VCMA”.
VIEWER’S CHOICE MOVIE AWARDS aim at honoring the great artistic work perfected by Uganda’s leading film actors, actresses, producers, publishers among others, annually with support from the Ministry of Culture.
The event that took place yesterday was only a special invite Nomination Night.
The main event is scheduled to also take place at Pearl of Africa Hotel on 24th of November 2018.
