Controversial and embattled Uganda Police Force commander, Mohammad Kirumira has been demoted from his position of Assistant Inspector Genera of Police.
According to a message from the Uganda Media Centre says Kirumira has been demoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector of Police over misconduct.
“Mr. Muhammad Kirumira is now Assistant Inspector of Police, having been found to have committed acts of gross misconduct contrary to the police standing orders on conduct and discipline.
The force disciplinary court has ruled,” reads the message posted by Uganda Media Centre.
He has been Assistant Superintendent of Police.
Kirumira who is under trial by the Police tribunal for various charges ranging from misconduct and unnecessary use of force is former DPC for Buyende District.
