PHOTOS: Malawian Prophet Bushiri Buys Daughter $414,000 Car As Birthday Gift

Malawi’s popular pastor and founder of the Enlightened Christian Gathering Church, Shepherd Bushiri has surprised his first daughter with a Maserati Levante worth $414,000 to celebrate her 5th birthday.

The South African based preacher took to both Instagram and Facebook on Wednesday to share photos of the new car which he bought for Israella who celebrates her birthday on December 25th.

He has underlined that people should not just look at the money; rather, they should learn the importance of being there for family and, also, the need for responsible parenthood.

The gift was unveiled on Wednesday afternoon writing a moving tribute about his unconditional love for the daughter.

In the pictures the little girl poses with what appears to be a brand-new Maserati Levante as the luxury car is adorned with ribbons and balloons.

“A man should never neglect his family for business. This is the reason why I always take time out with my family and show them love. Their happiness defines my success. Celebrating the birth of our daughter, Israella Bushiri!” he wrote.

“It seems like just yesterday when her little palms held my forefinger. It seems like only a while ago when I celebrated that finally I could lift her up and allow her to rest on my shoulders,” he added.

This, as expected, brought about a backlash on social media with the netizens expressing their disapproval.

Facebook user Sekgabi Masobe wrote, “Really a child get a Masarati Car for a present [sic].”

“Milk them boy akere they pay R25000 to receive your blessings and wena you buy your child an expensive car with their hard earned money and that time they don’t even own a bicycle.”

While another user commented on the support the prophet receives from his followers.

“Something must be wrong somewhere. It is either some people are hypnotised, diabolically manipulated or they are ignorantly stupid or all of the above,” wrote Jude Obiora Akonam.

This comes just few weeks after the preacher bought a fleet of vehicles to some of his workers.
