Parliament To Spend Shs53M On Main Gate Sign Post

The Parliamentary Commission has identified Xtra Ordinary Media Group Ltd as the best evaluated bidder to undertake the contract of designing, fabricating, delivering and installing parliamentary sign post at the Main Gate in works that will cost taxpayers Shs53.8m.

The details are contained in a bid notice on the Parliament notice board and signed by Clerk to Parliament Adolf Mwesige.

Although the notice indicates that being named best evaluated bidder doesn’t constitute an acceptance of bid notice or formation of a contract, Xtra Ordinary Media Group Ltd chances of grabbing that contract are high given the fact that they seem to be the only ones that took part in the bid.

In another bid notice, Parliament is expected to spend Shs39.84m on the procurement of office furniture in three lots of which Nina Interiors Ltd’s contract for these items is worth Shs16.52m, while Metric Furniture Ltd will supply furniture to a tune of Shs5.1m and again Nina Interior will supply the 3rd phase of furniture at a cost of Shs18.22m.

The Parliamentary Commission has another contract lined up to a tune of Shs20.48m to supply digital television sets and other accessories with the contract going to Aspire Capital Ventures Ltd.

This supplier beat three others bidders to this contract including TelTec Investment Ltd who was edged out for not submitting certificate of incorporation, bid security tax clearance certificate.

Appliance World Ltd’s bid for this particular bid was also rejected for failing to provide samples of the 32 inch screens they had in their stores, while Sitya General Supplies bid failed at the technical stage for failing to provide in their brochure samples of 32 and 43 inch screens.
