Nsenene Vendor On Uganda Airlines Plane Apologizes, Says He Was Shooting Tiktok Video

Paul Mubiru’s letter apologizing for hawking grasshoppers on Uganda Airlines plane

A passenger whose viral video of hawking  grasshoppers (Nsenene) on Uganda Airlines plane has apologized to fellow passengers, Uganda Airlines management and Ugandans at large, saying he recorded the video for tiktok deeds.

Paul Mubiru was on flight no. 446 to Dubai on 26th November 2021 from Entebbe. His video of selling grasshoppers onboard has received mixed reactions. His apology has been addressed to the Ag. CEO of Uganda Airlines and copied to Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) and the Ministry of Works and Transport.

We reproduce his apology below (slightly edited for grammatical reasons);

My name is Mubiru Paul, a 27 year old Ugandan who appears in the viral video circulating on social media where I appear to be vending grasshoppers aboard Uganda Airlines flight UR446 to Dubai on Friday 26th November, 2021.

I am sorry to fellow countrymen and women, the staff of Uganda Airlines, passengers and everyone hurt by the act on board.

I recorded the video in question not to tarnish or shame the Airline, the country or passengers on board but for comedy purposes specifically Tiktok deeds.

What appears as vending in the video was all for comical purposes but never for transactional gains.

I send in my apology and authorize you to make it public so that the other affected parties can also forgive me.
