Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni has issued new guidelines to the country in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
Museveni was on Sunday addressing the country after it registered it’s first Covid-19 case.
In the address, Museveni advised against using elbows to greet saying it is ‘idiotic’
He also advised that citizens avoid the use of public transport saying it is one of the dangers, capable of spreading the virus.
The president revealed that the virus has made some people reasonable, singling out Dr Ekwaro Obuku, the former president of the Uganda Medical Association (UMA) of doctors.
He once led a strike of doctors protesting poor working conditions and low pay.
Museveni said he was shocked to see Obuku giving the same advice to people about how to prevent the spread of the virus.
