Molly Kamukama Speaks Out On Cabinet Appointment, Successor Omona

Outgoing Principal Private Secretary, Molly Kamukama has taken to twitter to express her gratitude to President Yoweri Museveni for appointing her minister.

Kamukama has been appointed Minister of State for Economic Monitoring under the office the President according to the cabinet reshuffle announced on Saturday.

“Congratulations to colleague public servants appointed to & retained in cabinet by President @KagutaMuseveni .Such responsibility is both an honor & opportunity for us to contribute to the @NRMOnline ‘s transformative agenda for the country,” Molly tweeted moments after the reshuffle was announced.

She added, “In a special way, I want to thank the President for the renewed trust & confidence. I look forward to embracing the duties of my new deployment with the same energy & enthusiasm that I have always brought to every opportunity to serve my country.”

According to the changes, Molly will be replaced by Dr Kenneth Omona, the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party treasurer.

Molly believes Omona’s appointment will be an asset both to the presidency and State house.

“Special congratulations too, to my successor-designate – my friend Kenneth Omona, upon his appointement. Dr.#Omona has been a stellar performer at the @NRMOnline secretariat since his appointment in 2014, & will no doubt be a great asset to both the Presidency & @StateHouseUg,” Molly said on twitter.

Before assuming office, cabinet appointees will go through a parliamentary approval process expected to take place in January.
