The Chairman of the UPDF General Court Martial (GCM), Lieutenant General Andrew Guti Thursday morning set Kyadondo East MP, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine free after the state dropped ‘fire arms’ charges against him.
However, the freedom didn’t last even 5 minutes as the lawmaker was re-arrested on treason charges. He was driven away to Gulu Chief Magistrate’s Court for mention of the charges against him. Court proceedings are ongoing.
Bobi Wine joins Arua municipality MP-elect Kassiano Wadri, MPs Gerald Karuhanga, Paul Mwiru and 33 other suspects who were charged with treason charges at the same Court and remanded to Gulu Main Prison until August 30.
The Magistrate ordered that Bobi Wine and other suspects in poor health condition be given access to their personal doctors or given better treatment of their choices.
The Kyadondo East lawmaker will however have access to his personal doctor.
