Mbarara NRM Polls Heat Up As Road-map Is Released

An online survey conducted by NRM UPYM alongside UGANDA COALITION FOR POLITICAL ACCOUNTABILITY TO WOMEN, COPAW, GAMU, THE ALTERNATIVE, PARLIAMENTARY ADVOCACY FORUM (PAFO), COALITION OF THE WILLING and other researchers has published it’s results.

The team led by Mr. Sempala Zayid indicates that Hon. Bonnie Kashaija, Amb Robert Mwesigwa Rukari, and Mwine Mpaka are ahead of the Mbarara City Women, North and South parliamentary races leading among Boda-bodas, women groups, tax drivers, civil society, entire media and journalists, City hawkers, business men and women ..

Hon. Bonnie Kashaija has taken a commanding lead over closest challengers Hon. Emma Boona and Hon. Rita Bwahika in the NRM primaries, building a wider advantage among her Competitors just in a space of two weeks after NRM road map release.

According to the new national survey and poll of the registered voters in Mbarara City, among the striking cross-section of voters, the distance for Hon. Tusiime Michael has deepened as his ratings in Parliament strangely declined to only 27.1% that has left the Mbarara City voters disappointed. The dominant picture that emerges from the poll is of a City ready to reject him (the Incumbent) whom a strong majority of voters regard as failure giving an advantage to his closet rival Hon. Amb. Robert Rukaari.

The picture of Hon. Mwine Mpaka that emerges from the poll is one of acceptable and prefered Candidate for Member of Parliament Mbra City South constituency. The poll gathered that Hon. Mwine Mpaka inspires the young voters in the area. Though some of the of voter’s said they saw Hon. Emma Mbareebaki very favourable making him a closest rival.
