The Leader of opposition Betty Aol Ocan (pictured) has welcomed the step by the National Unity Platform (NUP) challenging President Yoweri Museveni victory in the supreme court.
Ocan said that this will expose the election rigging and violence that marred the campaigns.
She however said that nothing much will change except their effort being frustrated by the some of the NRM government structure.
NUP Presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu commonly known as Bobi Wine today Monday filed a Supreme Court petition, seeking for the cancellation of the results of a presidential election that handed victory to incumbent Yoweri Museveni.
Museveni, was declared a winner of the January 14th 2021 election garnering 6,042,898 votes (58.38%) while his closest challenger, Kyagulanyi got 3,631,437 (35.08%) of the total votes cast.
The leader of opposition said that there can not be any good results if this dictatorial regime led by president Museveni is still in power but NUP should never give up in fighting for change.
She said that the so called orders from above in Uganda cannot make courts of Law and Electoral Commission make a genuine decision regardless of all the evidence of electoral malpractices and electoral violence presented in court.
