Lands Ministry Cancels Prophet Kakande Land Titles

The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development has cancelled two land titles owned by Pastor Samuel Kakande of Synagogue Church of All Nations.

The commissioner of land registration at the ministry of lands, Aisha Kabira, in a letter addressed to Mechanised Agro Uganda Limited, a company owned by Kakande, indicates that the minute under which the titles were granted had been recalled.

“This is therefore to inform you that this office has gone ahead to cancel the said certificates of title mentioned above. The complainants as may thus go ahead and apply to the land board for their land,” reads part of the letter.

The move is a result of a process initiated by Mubende District Land Board secretary, Mary Jessica Nankabirwa, who wrote to the registrar of titles in the Ministry of Lands on January 22nd 2018, recalling the land board minutes, which awarded titles of Singo block 436 plot 33 at Ndeeba and block 436 at plot 34 at Lwakabuutu to Mechanised Agro Uganda Limited

The two pieces of land measure 26 square miles and have more than 10,000 sitting tenants from 56 villages in the Sub Counties of Manyogaseka and Kiganda.
