Kabaka Mutebi Meets Kenya’s President Kenyatta

The Kabaka of Buganda Kingdom, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II on Friday met with Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed issues to do with culture, according to a brief statement posted on the Facebook page of State House Kenya.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta today at State House, Nairobi held talks with the Kabaka of the Buganda Kingdom, Ronald Edward Frederick Kimera Muwenda Mutebi II who paid him a visit,” the statement says.

It adds, “The Head of State and the visiting cultural leader discussed subjects of mutual interest among them the central role of culture in regional integration and peaceful communal co-existence.”

Their meeting came on the heels of social media rumors that the Kabaka was hospitalised in Kenya.

Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni was on Thuhrsday prompted to warn those spreading the fake news about the king’s health.

The Kabaka’s meeting with Uhuru will surely allay fears among Buganda Kingdom subjects who were on edge over the King.
