The Permanent Secretary of the ministry of health, Dr Diana Atwine is encouraging the people of flood ravaged Kasese to be firm in the face of nature’s wrath.
The district has been hit by floods since Thursday that have left part of Kilembe Mines Hospital damaged and patients evacuated.
“My heart goes out to all our people that have been hit by the ongoing flooding. To the management, staff and patients of Kilembe Mines Hospital in Kasese, and all other health facilities, homes and properties around the country that have been affected, we are together in this,” Diana tweeted on Sunday.
Her message forms part of government’s response to the problem which also saw disaster minister Musa Ecweru visit the district to assess the damage.
It will also reassure residents of government efforts to help them cope with the devastating effects of the floods.
