The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health has laughed off allegations that she has amassed wealth.
An online publication on Monday morning alleged without proof that PS Dr Diana Atwine is erecting apartments in the city, something she has described as a roadblock by negative forces.
“So am being awarded wealth on social media! Anyway these are the usual roadblocks put in our way by negative forces with hidden agendas. Like I always say, we should’nt be diverted from strategic to petty things. So I own all these buildings that I have never even seen!” Atwine tweeted in response.
Atwine and the health minister, Dr Jane Ruth Aceng have been the target of what they have described as fake news.
The two ladies are leading Uganda’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Uganda now has 646 cases of COVID-19 with no deaths and 103 recoveries.
