Former ICT Minister Nasasira To Head ‘4th Industrial Revolution Task Force’

Former Minister for ICT Eng John Nasasira (in featured photo) has been named the Chairperson of the Expert National Task Force on 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR), reports indicate.

A statement from the Government Citizen Interaction Centre indicates that President Yoweri Museveni will today, 8th April, 2019 inaugurate an Expert National Task Force on 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR).

The National Task Force has been selected from innovation hubs, private sector, academia, civil society, Development partners and Government.

The team will study 4IR technologies and advise Government on policy interventions, possible implementation areas and the ecosystem for the adoption and promotion of 4IR including human capital development; infrastructure and technological environment.

The 21 member Expert National Task Force on the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) chaired by  Nasasira will also have Permanent Secretaries of Ministry of ICT and National Guidance and Ministry of Science and Technology, Heads of ICT Departments of Makerere University and Kyambogo University, other Government Officials, Members of the Civil Society, and Development Partners.

Nasasira retired from elective politics in 2016 after serving as the Kazo County MP for 27 years.
