COVID-19: PM Rugunda Goes Into Self Isolation As His Contacts Test Positive

Uganda’s Prime Minister Ruhakana Ruganda has revealed that he is going into self isolation after some of his contacts tested positive for coronavirus.

Rugunda made the revelation on Friday morning saying however, that his result is negative.

“Friends, I have gone into self isolation after some of my contacts tested positive for #COVID19. My own test result is negative, however, I have taken this decision as a health recommended measure,” he tweeted.

His revelation come on the same day the country announced that it had registered 35 new cases. The country’s total now stands at 557 with 82 recoveries and no deaths related to the disease.

The news also comes a day after public transport was allowed to return as the country eases the nation wide lock down announced two months ago to stop the spread of coronavirus.

There are reports that all cabinet members in Uganda are set to undergo tests for COVID-19.
