Flash floods have killed eleven people in Bundibugyo district, western Uganda.
The Uganda Red Cross has confirmed the death of 11 people saying efforts are underway to ‘manage the situation.’
“Bundibugyo floods; so far 11 comfirmed dead. Our teams are working with the Military @police to manage the situation. Search and rescue efforts underway,: The Uganda Red Cross tweeted on Saturday.
Heavy rains have been pounding parts of East Africa with Uganda and Kenya now the most affected by the devastating effects of the rain.
Flooding and landslides in East Africa have killed dozens of people and forced hundreds of thousands from their homes.
In Bududa district, eastern Uganda, five lives have been claimed by landslides this week.
