Makerere University Vice Chancellor has revealed that the institution will no graduate students from Makerere University Business School (MUBS) over dues owed to the former.
Professor Barnabas Nawangwe revealed this on Friday morning while speaking at a press conference to mark his first 100 days in office.
“We shall not graduate any MUBS student until MUBS management remits the portion of functional fees they owe us. This debt stands at 2.64 Billion Shillings from 2012 – 2013 to 2016 – 2017 academic years,” Nawangwe said.
MUBS, which is affiliated to Makerere University and specialises in business and management-related courses, is supposed to present its graduands at the 68th graduation ceremony set for February 2018 at the main Campus, Makerere.
He added, “We shall not graduate any MUBS student until MUBS management remits the portion of functional fees they owe us.
The graduation ceremony will take place in January 2018 from Tuesday 16th to 19th at the university Freedom Square.
