Stanbic Bank Uganda has appointed Cathy Adengo (pictured) as Head of Sustainability. Cathy’s appointment follows the Board of Director’s approval to establish a Sustainability function mandated to deliver on the Bank’s Social, Economic and Environmental objectives as part of the key strategic value drivers for the business.
In her new capacity, Cathy will be responsible for the development and implementation of Stanbic Bank Uganda’s Sustainability Strategy and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) priorities.
Sustainability Management plays a critical role to creating long-term business value by ensuring that the bank’s operations and activities create shared prosperity, improve community well-being and have a positive environmental and social impact.
Cathy previously held the position of Corporate Communications Manager, a role she successfully implemented over the past four years. She has been instrumental in building the Bank’s reputation and brand strategy, contributing to effectively sustaining the brand as the leading bank in Uganda.
With over 18 years’ experience and a proven track record in Corporate Communications, Public Affairs, Reputation Management, CSR and Sustainable Business; Cathy is an invaluable member of the organisation and with her passion and drive for excellence, she is set to deliver the bank’s sustainability vision.
Cathy holds a Postgraduate in Business Sustainability from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Kent, UK.
In a related development, Stella Kanyike has been appointed Corporate Communications Manager at Stanbic Bank Uganda.
Stella is a seasoned Communications professional with a diverse background spanning the private, public and development sectors.
She brings a wealth of experience in Corporate and Marketing Communication, Media Relations, Stakeholder Management and Project Management.
Over the course of her career, she has spearheaded the development and implementation of successful communication initiatives, most notably campaigns, drawn from her background in Advertising.
She has demonstrated leadership expertise and has built and mentored robust teams of professionals in previous leadership roles. Stella has a passion for social impact and is actively involved in various programmes seeking to empower and educate girls and young women.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from Makerere University and a professional diploma in Communication, Advertising and Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing-UK.
