Ugandans Who Have Contracted COVID-19 Stand At 145 After Confirming 10 New Cases

Uganda Wednesday May20, 2020 confirmed 10 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases for Ugandans to 145.

Ministry of Health said 9 new cases are truck drivers while 1 case is a contact to a confirmed truck driver.

“Following a Presidential Directive of deducting all foreign truck drivers from Uganda’s case count, the confirmed COVID-19 cases now stand at 145,” Ministry of Health said.

The Ministry added that 11 foreign truck drivers were handed over to their country of origin.

“Total Foreign truck drivers handed over to their country of origin since Presidential directive is 124,” the Ministry said, adding that truck drivers tested on Wednesday were 1,264.

Community samples tested were 233.

The country has 65 recoveries, 80 active cases and zero COVID-19 related death.
