Former FDC President Mugisha Muntu has completed his split from the opposition party by having his owned cleared by the Electoral Commission.
Muntu announced on Tuesday afternoon that his new party, “The Alliance For National Transformation” party has been cleared by the country’s electoral body.
“Today, the Electoral Commission has finally cleared our party, the Alliance for National Transformation. Please find Hon. Alaso’s full statement below.
We would like to thank everyone that has stood with and for us thus far and look forward to building a Uganda that works for all of us, together,” he posted on his Facebook page.
Last September, Muntu quit the FDC after failing to agree with top party officials on the best approach to capture state power.
