Former Presidential candidate, John Patrick Amama Mbabazi on Thursday evening abandoned the comfort of his political oblivion to congratulate newly elected Kyadondo East lawmaker.
Amama who has been off the political scene since he lost the presidential election to his former boss, President Yoweri Museveni in February last year took to twitter praising the people of Kyadondo for speaking with a ‘clear unmistakable voice.’
“Bobi Wine Robert Kyagulanyi congratulations on your emphatic win! The people of Kyadondo East have spoken with a clear unmistakable voice,” the former premier tweeted.
Bobi Wine won a landslide on Thursday, trouncing the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party candidate and opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Apollo Kantinti.
Mbabazi enjoyed a warm political relationship with Museveni until they broke ranks in 2014 when the latter realized that his premier wanted to dethrone him.
The former ‘super minister’ who is said to be globetrotting, last made a public appearance while attending the low key wedding ceremony of his sister-in-law, Alice Ruhindi in London two weeks ago.
