Top Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) official, Phillip Wafula Wagutu has claimed that former party President Gen. Mugisha Muntu had no good reasons to quit the largest opposition party in Parliament.
The former Leader of Opposition in Parliament says Muntu quit FDC to fulfill his long term ambition of appearing on a Presidential ballot paper.
“Let us be honest . My good friend Gen. Mugisha Muntu has no good reasons to quit FDC apart from the ten year failure to control the Party and realize his long term desire to be on the presidential ballot paper,” Wafula said in a facebook post .
“He has no ideological issues nor (sic) serious differences over principles and objectives we know of. The reason he would not have left the Party had he retained his position as Party President in the elections of last year.
The differences are over tactics not strategy.
How can a true democrat run away from the decision of the majority after a free and fair election?
Then why go through the elections in the first place?
Once again the people have lost and the dictatorship has won,” he added.
Muntu quit FDC early this week.
