Uganda International Trade Fair 2019 Attracts More Foreign Companies

The 27th Uganda International trade Fair which started on Wednesday 2nd through Thursday 10th October 2019 at Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) showground, will be officially opened on 7th October 2019 by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as guest of honor.

The trade show has attracted more foreign exhibitors from countries including Italy, Egypt, India, China, Germany, Austria, Russia, Rwanda, Tanzania and Kenya among others.

The Executive Director, UMA, Daniel Birungi says that the “trade fair has attracted over 500 exhibitors and expects to attract over 300,000 show goers with about 25,000 expected on a daily basis. There are more than 20 foreign exhibitors at this year’s trade fair from countries like Italy, Egypt, India, China, Germany, Austria, Russia, Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya and many more.”

This year’s trade fair is themed: Promoting job creation through industrialization”.

Addressing the press on Monday, the Chairman UMA, Barbara Mulwana, said that Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) will be the main focus at the 27th Uganda Manufacturers Association International Trade Fair.

 “It will mainly focus on SMEs’ innovations as well as push for partnerships, collaborations and linkages from foreign companies. We want this to be an arena where things happen beyond the usual business. And we have done everything possible to allow SMEs make the most out of this trade fair,” she said.

At the show, a range of local products are being showcased and sold at attractive prices.
