Ruparelia Foundation, the charitable arm of the Ruparelia Group of Companies today donated food items to Hadijah Aloyo, a vendor who was brutally beaten by LDUs in Kampala on Thursday last week.
This is after a section of security officers misinterpreted President Yoweri Museveni’s directives in the fight against the deadly COVID-19 that is caused by the coronavirus.
The President’s directives stopping public transport have literally left Kampala on lockdown.
And to save the most vulnerable people in Kampala and its suburbs from starving, Ruparelia Foundation is donating food relief items and other essential items to about 5,000 most vulnerable families in Kampala and its suburbs.
Ruparelia Foundation is working with Kampala Central Aspirant, Cedric Babu to reach out to the most vulnerable.
Today the Foundation traced Aloyo, a resident of Kamwokya and donated to her rice, beans, maize flour, soap and packs of Sanitizers.
While handing over the items, Sanjay Chandarana, a representative of Ruparelia Foundation urged other organizations and sympathizers to give back to the vulnerable people like Aloyo and others who are in a difficult financial state.
Sanjay also encouraged people to wash hands with soap to prevent COVID-19. Uganda has 33 confirmed cases of coronavirus as of yesterday.
