Housing Finance Bank Managing Director, Michael Mugabi
The Bank of Uganda (BoU) has awarded Housing Finance Bank as the best performing Primary Dealer in Uganda Government Securities for the month of October 2020.
The award from BoU Governor, Prof. Emmanuel Tumusiime-Mutebile was received by Housing Finance Bank Managing Director, Michael K. Mugabi during the Governor’s meeting with the Uganda Bankers’ Association on November 18, 2020.
Effective October 1, 2020, BoU introduced a new Primary Dealer system after improving the earlier one with reforms which will deepen the market and liquidity for these Government Securities.

The market currently has seven primary dealer banks for this purpose.
“Housing Finance Bank remains a stronger partner with Government of Uganda in the mobilization of debt and is your primary dealer of choice because of our flexibility, convenience and competitive pricing,” Mugabi said in statement.
