Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda last evening launched its ‘Magic On Wheels’ campaign at Akamwesi Mall in Kampala. The campaign is aimed at giving back to consumers during Christmas.

Lee Newton Ogong, the Channel Execution and Trade Marketing Manager at Coca Cola Beverages Uganda said that “this is part of our real magic campaign that we started towards the end of last year.”

“It’s basically about sharing. Bringing magic to our consumers and customers. Christmas has always been synonymous with Coca-Cola. We have done this for almost 100 years and we are not going to stop today. Coming out of the pandemic, there wasn’t a lot of celebrations and we did change our thematic to real magic. Our new thematic campaign is sharing the magic of Christmas,” Ogong said during the launch before the trucks headed to Kawempe.

He added: “We are going to have the trucks around the city centre and the outskirts of Kampala where we will be gifting our loyal and very dear customers with family food stuffs that will be able to be consumed at home but most of all, we are trying to bring the families together and we want to give back to our customers and consumers a magical moment during Christmas.”

The campaign will run for the next 12 days (until 24th December, 2022) between 6pm and 10pm in the areas of Mukono, Gayaza, Kasangati, City Centre, Kawempe, Entebbe and other Kampala suburbs.

Ogong says the investment is worth over Shs 200 million.

During this period, Santa will be giving out live chicken, rice, matooke, sugar and soda among others.

“Whatever Santa will give you, there are no terms and conditions. When you see the truck, approach it. We shall be running from 6pm to 10pm. Come and let Santa gift you,” Ogong said.

Arthur Ankankwasa, Franchise Manager Uganda -Coca-Cola East and Central Franchise, remarked: “December is the season when loved ones, families, friends, and neighbours come together to share laughter, stories and bond over meals and drinks. We want to be part of your celebration! We hope the caravan experience will enrich the festivities and sprinkle some magic to it,” remarked

“We are proud to associate with the Christmas spirit, it’s something we treasure and spread in all communities we operate. Coca-Cola continues to not only refresh people with delicious drinks, but to also refresh communities,” she added.

Isaac Sekasi, Commercial Director, Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda reminded Ugandans of the magic of family, and shared experiences.

“Every day is a celebration, but this festive season we want to spread extra cheer. Coming for a two-year lockdown where people experience different hardships, this is a reminder to celebrate the magic around us; family loved ones and happy moments. We invite you to refocus on the magic within us, it takes a different lens to see magic. Use a red lens!”

“It celebrates families and friends, past and present, as well as those shared recipes, memories, and traditions that bind generations together over the Christmas meal. At Coca-Cola, we want to create meaningful connections with audiences this holiday season. Wishing you all a safe and happy festive season as we continue refreshing Africa every day while making our continent a better place,” he concluded.
