One of the disabled Muslims ready to receive his package from CMC Marketing Cordinator, Imelda Kabera
Muslims with Disabilities in Nakawa Division were treated to Eid goodies from the Cooper Motor Corporation (CMC) as a way of boosting their festivities.
The goodies which included food stuff were delivered to the Nakawa Division offices by a team from CMC led by the Marketing Coordinator, Imelda Kabera.
In her address, Kabera noted that the decision to gift the disabled Muslims was premised on the realization that the vulnerable members of the society are usually forgotten at such times of the year.
“The Covid-19 pandemic has affected almost all people globally and when it comes to the disabled, the impact has been grave. So, to bring hope to them, we thought of bring them food packages including rice, sugar, cooking oil and other items,” Kabera said adding that transcends religious differences.
Speaking on behalf of the Town Clerk, Rashid Bukona, the Ward Administrator Nakawa East applauded CMC for ‘making the disabled people look as important as other members of the community’.
“I want to thank CMC management for extending food aid to the disabled in Nakawa Division. Such people are more vulnerable amid the pandemic that has affected our economy,” Bukona said.
CMC is the official distributor of Ford, Suzuki, Mazda, New Holland tractors and Eicher trucks and buses.
