The Ruparelia Foundation Trustee and Chief organizer of Christmas party for the vulnerable children, Naiya Ruparelia has called on Ugandans and companies the need to embrace the needy people in communities as a milestone by giving back to them in various ways.
Naiya says everybody has capacity to give back in order to transform unfortunate Ugandans into better citizens.
She made the remarks Sunday while celebrating Christmas with over 600 vulnerable kids from different homes at Kampala Parents’ School. The Christmas party for the underprivileged children was dubbed “Make Their Christmas One to Remember.”
The was organized by Ruparelia Foundation in partnership with Unilever, Crown Beverages, Lato Milk, The Dawa Foundation, Speke Resort Munyonyo, Kabira Country Club, Kampala Parents’ School, Kampala Kids Run, Victoria University and individual sponsors.
“Whenever you are having fun, a meal during Christmas period, let’s think about those who are unfortunate. I urge Society to give back and everybody can give back in a small way,” Naiya, the Chief organizer of the party, said.
The main objective of the event, she said, was to bring disadvantaged children together in one place and have fun, a good time and get gifts.
Naiya, who is a wife to Rajiv Ruparelia, added that the event will become annual going forward.
“Today we wanted to have a meal and build relationship with them. We wanted them to have a memorable Christmas experience,” Naiya, who is passionate about vulnerable children, said.
Naiya further explained that through the Ruparelia Foundation, they have been able to support many activities that benefit communities especially those in needy citing scholarships offered at Victoria University, latrine construction project for schools in Kamwokya , plastic recycling and environmental conservation among others.
“The Foundation will continue to grow and shall have more fundraising events in different sectors including wildlife, education and health among others,” she said.
