Big Boost For Business Community As Air Tanzania Revolutionizes Cargo Operations in Uganda

Air Tanzania is offering cargo charter services to various destinations

Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) has turned the history from nonstop regional and international passengers’ flights operations to a whole new world of cargo solution by using its Boeing 767-300F.

ATCL Country Representative in Uganda, Khalfan Lugendo, confirmed the development after unloading 49 tonnes of pharmaceuticals and vaccines from Mumbai on 23rd January 2024 which were delivered by B767-300F.

“From the loading destination of origin to Entebbe, we have handled this cargo as required to ensure pharmaceutical products are delivered safely and securely. With the modern facilities in this aircraft, Air Tanzania is ready to boost the Ugandan economy through handling large volumes of cargo driven by demand,” said Lugendo.

In December 2023, the Freighter unloaded 40 tonnes of general cargo for the first time in Entebbe, Uganda and due to its unique modern facilities and capacity has marked a milestone with increased demand for cargo transportation between Mumbai and Uganda.

“We are thrilled to bring our state-of-the-art Boeing 767-300F to Uganda, offering the best and most competitive rates among all cargo operators in the region. Our aircraft is equipped to transport all types of goods and we encourage the business community in Uganda to take advantage of reliable, efficient, and cost-effective transportation solutions,” added Lugendo.

For six years now, ATCL has operated passenger flights to and from Entebbe four times per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. However, the arrival of ATCL Cargo aircraft has become the most preferred means of transport due to its ripple effect from various goods transported to manufacturers, suppliers and consumers who are connected across the world.

Air Tanzania is offering cargo charter services to various destinations and has practiced the same in Nairobi, Bujumbura, Kinshasa, Bangui, Lusaka, Antananarivo, Mumbai, Dubai, Sharjah, Ouagadougou and more.
