Bank of Africa officials launching the ‘Appsolutely Eassy’ Campaign
Bank of Africa (BOA) Uganda has officially launched the “Appsolutely Eassy” Campaign, enhancing its digital banking BOA wallet App with a seamless account opening experience.
The campaign aims at putting financial services directly into the hands of Ugandans without the need to visit a branch. The youth, first-time banking customers and existing account holders are among the targeted groups.
Speaking at the launch of the revolutionary campaign at the bank’s headquarters in Kampala, Arthur Isiko, the Managing Director at Bank of Africa Uganda, said the bank’s “Appsolutely Eassy” campaign makes banking easy as one can open up a bank account anywhere.
“With the BOA Wallet, we are removing traditional barriers to financial inclusion. Now, anyone can open a fully functional bank account in minutes, no paperwork, no queues, no delays right from their mobile phone,” said Isiko, adding: “This innovation is part of our broader strategy to make banking truly accessible to everyone, especially the younger, digitally driven generation.”
He added that the BOA Wallet is designed for smart, security-conscious users, offering real-time transaction alerts, a sleek and intuitive interface, and full access to their funds anytime, anywhere.

It also offers a complete suite of digital services that empower customers to manage their finances effortlessly; including
instant account opening, simple and secure ways to make digital payments to merchants and service providers and, convenient payment options for utilities, airtime, and other essential services, all through the app.
Samir Yassine, the Executive Director at Bank of Africa, said customers can save directly through the app and earn attractive interest rates on their deposits.
“The New app with new features is part of the long-term investment in digital strategy, which the bank embarked on many years ago. The app is part of the banking community for enterprises and individuals to utilize,” said Yassine.
It should be noted that more than two-thirds of Ugandans don’t have a bank account.
However, according to the GSMA Mobile Economy Sub-Saharan Africa report, smartphone usage in Uganda is projected to surpass 80% by 2025, driven by increased internet access and more affordable devices.
Through innovations like the BOA Wallet, Bank of Africa is making financial empowerment truly “Appsolutely Eassy” for Ugandans – driving deposits, expanding access, and delivering a modern banking experience that fits today’s lifestyle.
“Currently, 80% of the bank’s transactions are handled digitally,” said Isiko.
