Entebbe Airport Handled Over 180,000 Passengers In October – UCAA

Entebbe International Airport recorded a total of 183,728 international passengers in October 2024, Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) has said.

UCAA Spokesperson Vianney M. Luggya says these included 90,762 arriving and 92,966 departing passengers.

This was an average of 5,926 per day compared to 5,545 passengers handled per day in October 2023.

The previous month of September 2024 recorded an average of 6,290 passengers per day.

In relation to cargo, Luggya says, the airport facilitated 1,798 tonnes of imports and 4,027 tonnes of exports, a total of 5,825 tonnes of cargo in October 2024.

Entebbe airport is undergoing expansion to to meet the growing passenger and cargo numbers.  The ongoing construction of the new terminal building is now 74% complete.

Expansion works are expected to be completed by March 2025.

The upgrade and expansion of a new terminal building and other ongoing works will significantly increase the airport’s capacity and efficiency, subsequently boosting trade and tourism.
