Entebbe International Airport recorded a total of 188,710 passengers in September 2024, Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) has revealed.
Vianney M. Luggya, the UCAA Spokesperson says 100,350 were arriving passengers and 88,360 departing passengers. This gives an average of 6,290 per day, compared to the 5,710 per day recorded in the same month of September 2023.
“Cargo recorded a total of 5,739 metric tonnes in September 2024 (3,701 exports and 2,038 imports),” Luggya says.
Entebbe airport is undergoing expansion to to meet the growing passenger and cargo numbers. The ongoing construction of the new terminal building is now 74% complete.
Expansion works are expected to be completed by March 2025.
The upgrade and expansion of a new terminal building and other ongoing works will significantly increase the airport’s capacity and efficiency, subsequently boosting trade and tourism.
