Uganda has been voted Africa’s best safari country for birding in an annual study conducted by SafariBookings. This result was part of a larger study to determine the best safari country in Africa, in which Botswana emerged as the overall winner. The annual survey considered the reviews of almost 3,600 experts and safari travelers.
SafariBookings.com, the world’s largest online African safari marketplace, brings together reviews by both safari experts and travelers to complete its annual survey. For the most recent survey, almost 3,600 such reviews were analyzed and countries were ranked overall, and also according to the categories of wildlife viewing, birding, bush atmosphere and scenic value.
Uganda is blessed with a wonderful combination of wildlife and dreamy landscapes. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is one of the few and best places to see mountain gorillas, while Kibale, Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National Parks are beautiful protected areas filled with wildlife, including many different primates such as chimpanzees. Birding can be enjoyed all over the country. Murchison Falls National Park is one of the best places in Africa to find the prehistoric-looking shoebill.
