Tour, Travel, and Dentistry are the new categories to grace the Consumer Choice Awards 2024.
This, as companies in tourism and travel as well as those in dentistry embrace the Awards now in their 7th edition,.
The Awards Chief Executive Officer, Bari Salim, announced the start of voting in Kampala on Friday.
Consumer Choice Awards are the idea of Consumers Guide Magazine. It recognizes excellent businesses through consumers. Consumers either vote online or in a ground survey conducted by the magazine.
Voting opened on Friday and will run until July 7, 2024, ahead of the awards dinner on September 6, 2024, in Kampala.
“Go and vote for your products,” said Bari. “These will help you and other consumers make purchase decisions.”
Over 50 categories are expected this year, said Bari. This is in comparison to about 30 categories in the 6th edition.
During the Awards’ media launch on Friday, brands testified to the benefits of being recognized.
According to Amin Babu, the General Sales Manager, Midwestern at Bidco Uganda Limited, the company deals in fast-moving consumer goods, and as such, consumers interact with many of their products.
“Our products are consumer-based. That’s why we have been winning, and when this program comes up, we have to support it,” said Amin.
Jamil Alibhai of Eye Care Center says the awards and recognitions have enabled them to improve where necessary, especially in embracing new technologies.
John Tumwesigye, the commercial manager at Sumz Food Industries, says that for 14 years, consumers have enabled the business to grow. To this end, he said the decision by the consumer is critical.
“It is critical for businesses to understand and prioritize the needs of the consumer, especially in this digital era where consumers have information at their fingertips,” concluded Bari.
