Nearly Blinded MP Zaake Warns Tormentors He Won’t Give Up

Mityana Municipality lawmaker Francis Zaake has vowed to begin from where he stopped when he returns from the United States of America (USA) where he has been undergoing treatment for injuries he suffered in a parliamentary scuffle.

Zaake who says he has been given glasses to aid his vision warned that he wont be giving up the fight to defend the constitution. He had gone for treatment after a scuffle in parliament with security operatives.

“This Friday 1st December 2017 I’ll be finally home!  Thank you God and thank you Ugandans for praying with me to restore my health.
I would also wish to notify my tormentors that iam coming back and that on that first day of the last month of this historical year in the history of Uganda, I will come back to begin from where I stopped, I will come back more prepared to protect our constitution. Although I will come back almost blind, this won’t stop my involvement in the struggle, even though Iam donning these bandages on my head and glasses on my face my spirit shall never fault,” Zaake wrote on his Facebook page.

He has since invited well wishers for his thanksgiving service slated for Friday.

“With utmost humility I do invite you my colleagues and friends to my thanksgiving mass scheduled for Friday 1st Dec, 2017 at 4:00pm in Mityana cathedral-Kiyinda. I will be thanking God for restoring my health and I will be grateful for your presence. Thank you.”
