Top Officials Of HBM Labour Company Arrested Over Illegal Human Organ Trade Of Ugandan Working In Saudi Arabia

The top officials of HBM company, a labour exporting company have been sent to the CID police over alleged collusion for the death of one Sharifah Birungi resulting from illegal human organ trade.

The arrested officials include the company Director Badru Musisi and operations officer Silus Kabanda Kayizi.

parliamentary committee on Gender, Labour and Social Development chaired by Kyegegwa district Woman MP, Flavia Kabahenda ordered that the officials in question be taken to police for interrogation after interfacing with then on oath.

The committee got reports that HBM labour company located in Lubaga was contacted by late Sharifah Birungi to be taken to Saudi Arabia for work and they connected her to Modern star company which took her to Saudi Arabia where she later died in an alleged accident.

However, after her death the family demanded the return of her body but was treated to unfair conditions which included signing a consent agreement to return the body without her organs.

The committee claims that the company told the family of the late girl to accept the agreement or be paid Shs51 million lest the girl be  buried in Saud Arabia.

The committee also faults HBM company owners for not taking responsibility when Sharifah Birungi was reported dead yet the family knew that their daughter was taken by this company to Modern star.

Kibanda North MP, Linos Ngompek  suspects  that there was a collusion between HBM company owners and Modern star company and the Human organ buyers living in Saudi Arabia in this illegal human organ trade.

However, the Operations Manager of HBM,  Silus  Kabanda Kayizi denied the allegations, saying their work was to connect late Sharifah Birungi to Modern star company for a job.
