New BAT Uganda boss, Kirunda Magoola
The Board of Directors of British American Tobacco Uganda Limited (the ‘Company’) has announced the appointment of Kirunda Magoola as Managing Director and an Executive Board Director of the Company effective 1 August 2020.
He replaces Mathu Kiunjuri, who has resigned from his position as Managing Director and Executive Board Director of the Company effective 31 July 2020, following re-deployment to a new senior role within the British American Tobacco Group.
Kiunjuri was appointed to the Board as Managing Director on 14 October 2017.
Magoola most recently held the position of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Manager at BAT Uganda.
He is an experienced marketing and communications professional with over 15 years’ experience within the consumer goods and utilities industries. He is skilled in business planning & management, risk management as well as regulatory and policy management.
He holds a Master of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from Makerere University Business School and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Bhopal University, India.
“The Board congratulates Mr. Magoola on his appointment and welcomes him to the Board,” BAT Uganda said in a statement.
Kiunjuri leaves behind a firm foundation for a sustainable business in Uganda, the Company said.
