Muslims have been urged to stay away from alcohol after the holy month of Ramadan.
The call was made today by Sheik Mohammed Kigozi, the Secretary General in the office of the Supreme Mufti while receiving food items donated by Premier Recruitment Ltd, a labour exporting agency.
The items were handed over by Sharifa Nanyombi on behalf of Rajiv Ruparelia, the Director of Premier Recruitment Ltd. The donated items included maize flour, Sugar, cooking oil and water among other food stuffs.
Sheik Kigozi said it’s wrong for Muslims to drink alcohol after the holy month of Ramadan because it’s contrary to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
He said they should maintain the lifestyle exhibited during the holy month of Ramadan, noting that sinners are forgiven during this month and it would be wrong to go back to old ways that are contrary to the teachings of the Koran.
He added Muslims should use this month to adjust their behaviours to the teachings of the Koran.
Nanyombi noted that donating items to Muslims was part of Premier Recruitment’s Corporate Social Responsibility.
Premier Recruitment is under Ruparelia Group of Companies and gets jobs for Ugandans to work abroad.
The company was licensed by the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development for both external and internal recruitment.
