Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni has arrived in the Kenyan capital Nairobi for a three day visit.
Museveni was invited by his Kenyan counterpart, Uhuru Kenyatta and according the former’s twitter handle, the two will be discussing ways on how to bolster the two nations’ relations.
“Arrived in Mombasa, Kenya this morning for a three-day state visit on the invitation of His Excellency Uhuru Kenyatta. Our discussions will focus on how to strengthen our countries’ political, social and economic ties,” Museveni said.
Museveni arrived in Kenya from South Africa where he attended a solidarity conference on Western Sahara. The conference, in Pretoria, was co-hosted by South Africa, Namibia and the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic.
He also met and held talks with South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa.
Besides bilateral meetings, President Museveni will also tour Mombasa Port before proceeding to Nairobi for further engagements.
At the Moi International Airport in Mombasa, President Museveni, who was honoured with a 21-gun salute, was received by his host, President Uhuru Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto, Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, Minister Sam Kutesa and Kenya’s High Commissioner Phoebe Otaala, among other officials.
