Formula One: Ecobank Flags Off Lucky Winners To Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Ecobank Uganda Thursday flagged off four lucky winners of the Transact and Win promotion to watch live the Formula One-Yas Marina Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi.

Handing over the tickets to the winners at the bank’s head offices located along Parliamentary Avenue, Ecobank’s Head of Consumer Banking -Nuhu Kanyike said the winners will enjoy a four-day all expenses paid trip to Abu Dhabi courtesy of the Pan-African bank.

The lucky winners were selected based on the number of transactions done using the Ecobank Mobile App.

The winners, who will fly out tomorrow, include Dominic Savio Kimurahebwa, Joanita Nanyanzi, Jacguellyn Nambi Ssanyu and Joan Nansamba. The bank will spend about US$13,000 to ensure that the winners get the best treatment while in Abu Dhabi.

Kanyike noted that the bank launched the transact and win promotion in July this year with the aim of driving utilization of the bank’s state-of-the-art Ecobank Mobile App.

“You no longer want customers to walk into branches because it’s costly. You can access your bank account using Ecobank Mobile App anywhere and transact conveniently,” Kanyike said.

Primrose Kobusingye, the Head of Marketing and Communications at Ecobank told Business Focus that over 200,000 customers are currently  using the bank’s  App.

The App that has been voted best in Africa allows customers to open an Xpress account on their phones, make payments with Ecobank by scanning a QR code, withdraw using e-token from any Ecobank ATM, purchase airtime, pay bills, send and receive money locally and across Africa at lower rates and push and pull from mobile money.

The App also allows customers to attach other bank VISA cards, check account balance, generate a statement, block a card and approve cheques among other things.
