Controversial Makerere University Don, Stella Nyanzi was on Wednesday charged with offesinve communication by a court in Kampala.
Nyanzi was arrested last week on allegations that she abused President Museveni and his deceased mother.
Dr Nyanzi was arrested at Makerere University on Friday and driven to Special Investigations Division headquarters at Kireka where she is currently detained. She was holding a silent strike at Makerere after the university management failed to restore to her office despite the court ruling.
The CID spokes person, Superintendent of Police Vincent Ssekatte confirmed the arrest of Dr Nyanzi.
