A 25-man squad for Tanzania is expected today in Kampala for their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations game at Namboole stadium Saturday.
Emmanuel mukine, who will be in charge of his first game for the Tanzania national team, the Taifa Stars, expects a competitive game but will count on teamwork for a decent result.
Uganda broke an almost four-decade jinx to play in the finals by qualifying for the 2017 Afcon in Gabon and currently lead Group L with 3 points.
The Cranes, then under Serbian coach Milutin Sredojevic ‘Micho’, beat Cape Verde 1-0 away while Tanzania stuttered in their opener where they drew 1-1 with Lesotho at home.
“Playing Uganda will be interesting. We know that it will not be an easy match. We are ready for the challenge because we know what to expect,” the Nigeria told the media in Tanzania.
“We’ll put a lot of emphasis on our teamwork,” he added.
Tanzania last played in the Afcon finals in 1980.
