Al Ahly football committee accepted the resignation of head coach Hossam El-Badry after the team lost to KCCA FC 2-0 in the second fixture of the CAF Champions League Group Stages, reports Egyptian based kingfut.
El-Badry’s season took an unexpected turn as the Red Devils failed to find victory in their last four games. The team lost two successive domestic defeats, then a home draw in their first Champions League Group Stage fixture against Esperance and were defeated on Tuesday by Kampala in Uganda.
Assistant coach Ahmed Ayoub will be leading the team in their final game this season when they clash with Al Masry in the Egyptian Premier League on May 20.
A meeting will be held on Wednesday by the committee to discuss the football team’s future plans.
