Gen Katumba Wamala, the Minister of Works & Transport presided over the graduation ceremony
57 students recently graduated in various courses from the East African Civil Aviation Academy in Soroti in a ceremony presided over by Gen Katumba Wamala, the Minister of Works & Transport.
The graduands included 29 pilots, 14 aircraft maintenance engineers, 12 flight operations officers and two Airline Transport Pilot Licence (Ground) officers from the academic years of 2019-22.
East African Civil Aviation Academy Soroti offers the following courses under Flying School; Private Pilots license, Commercial Pilots License, Instrument rating, Multi-Engine rating, Flight Instructor License and Airline Transport Licence.
Under the Engineering School, the following courses are offered; Aircraft maintenance, engineering license majoring in Category A – (Airframes), Category C – (Engines), Category X – (Electrical)
Supporting courses offered by East African Civil Aviation Academy Soroti include: Airport Operations, Instructional Techniques, Safety Management Systems and Human Factors in Aviation.
Gen Wamala appreciated and gifted the best students in different categories. These categories included discipline and academic performance.
